The Giorgio Zoia company from Milan produced tuberculosis medications. Operations on infected lungs were performed under rudimentary conditions in the reserve hospital. Medications for treating the disease were not available. Pulmonary tuberculosis was the primary cause of death in Zeithain from 1943 to 1945.
