Toothbrushes
The Italian section of the camp had a dentistry hut. Medications and instruments were in short supply. The Red Cross nurse Maria Zeme wrote in her diary: ‘Right lower wisdom tooth extracted. It’s horrible. Since there were no forceps, regular pliers for nails were used without anaesthesia.’
