Albucid (sulfacetamide) was used to treat bacterial infections of the urinary tract. Surviving medical records of German soldiers and of men forcibly quartered in mass housing document the use of the substance in treating gonorrhoea. No medical records of prisoners or guards from Zeithain have survived.
